More about the writers...
Songwriter Fred Koller was born in Chicago, IL. He moved to Nashville and went on to write numerous hit songs for artists like Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Chesney, Kathy Mattea, Nanci Griffith, John Prine, the Sons of the Pioneers, and the Jeff Healy Band. He also taught the art of writing music in classrooms and at seminars, as well as through his book, How to Pitch and Promote Your Songs.
In addition to his songwriting work, Koller released numerous solo albums, including Night of the Living Fred and Songs From the Night Before. In 2001, the Gadfly imprint released No Song Left to Sell, which featured songs Koller had co-written with his pal Shel Silverstein. (Bio written by Johnny Loftus @ All Music Guide)
James Claffey hails from County Westmeath, Ireland, and lives on an avocado ranch in Carpinteria, CA, with his wife, the writer and artist, Maureen Foley, their daughter, Maisie, and Australian cattle-dog, Rua. He has a son, Simon, who lives with his mom in San Diego. James’ first book, Blood a Cold Blue will be published this fall by Press 53.
In the 1970's, Danny O'Keefe put out a string of albums that cemented his reputation as being among the best songwriters of his generation. These days, casual fans know him best for his Top Ten hit "Good Time Charlie's Got The Blues" or Jackson Browne's version of "The Road" from the classic Running On Empty album. But the story didn't end in the 70's. He continued to release the occasional album and recently returned with "In Time", his first solo release in nine years.
